TRIPLE M LOCKS IN ITS 2026 NRL GRAND FINAL CALL TEAM AS NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS’ FAIRYTALE CONTINUES

Triple M is gearing up for a huge day of NRL this Sunday, with the Newcastle Knights taking on the Sydney Roosters in the 2026 NRL Grand Final and Triple M bringing listeners every moment of the action across the network and LiSTNR.

Dan Ginnane will lead Triple M’s national Grand Final call, joined by James Graham, Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin and Ryan Girdler, with the team bringing listeners the tackles, tries, and match-defining moments from the biggest game of the NRL season.

The Grand Final caps an extraordinary turnaround for the Newcastle Knights, who have gone from wooden spooners to premiership contenders and will play in their first NRL Grand Final since 2001.

The build-up to the decider has already taken over Newcastle, with Triple M Newcastle’s Tanya & Steve – the city’s Number 1 Breakfast show – hosting a special live Breakfast broadcast from The Greenroof Hotel this morning, with hundreds of listeners turning out to celebrate the Knights’ remarkable run.

The celebrations will continue throughout Grand Final weekend, with Triple M Newcastle hosting its own local Grand Final call featuring Jim Cllinan, Andrew ‘Bobcat’ Ryan and Newcastle Knights premiership coach Michael Hagan, bringing local perspective to one of the biggest sporting moments the city has experienced in more than two decades, meanwhile Hit106.9 Newcastle will broadcast Triple M’s national call of the game.

Triple M’s national Grand Final Day coverage kicks off from midday with The Sunday Sin Bin, as Ben Dobbin, James Graham, Gorden Tallis and Brent Read dissect the biggest stories, selection calls and talking points ahead of the decider.

The NRLW Grand Final follows from 3:30pm, with Anthony Maroon, Aaron Woods and Emma Verran calling the clash between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos. The match will have added significance for Triple M Rush Hour NSW’s Millie Elliott, who will play her final game for the Roosters as the club looks to claim a premiership double on Grand Final day.

Then, from 6:30pm, all eyes turn to the NRL Grand Final as the Knights face the Roosters, with Triple M’s national call team of Dan Ginnane, James Graham, Ryan Girdler and Ben Dobbin taking listeners through the biggest moments of the 2026 season.

Ewan Giles, SCA Head of Sports Content – Audio, said: “We’ve got a huge day of NRL ahead across Triple M, from the build-up and debate on The Sunday Sin Bin, through to the NRLW and NRL Grand Finals.

“Triple M is built around bringing fans closer to the sport, and this weekend we’ll have our biggest names and best rugby league voices across the network. It’s going to be a massive day for rugby league fans, and Triple M will be there for every moment.”
